From this week, when you visit Cookpad, you’ll notice a few changes which will make it easier to find our most important features and improve your overall experience with us. We hope you like them as much as we do.

What you will see when you have updated Cookpad from 3rd August (iOS and web) or the 5th August (Android):

  • App users will see 5 navigation tabs instead of 3; Home, Search, Create, Activity and You.
  • Web users will see 2 new tabs; You and Activity.

To help you navigate the new layout, we’ve created these pop-ups (see below) which will appear when you open Cookpad for the first time.

What you knew as the ‘Plan’ tab has been replaced by the ‘You’ tab; the tab which is all about you! From now, all of the recipes saved in your ‘Plan’ will appear in ‘You’. The ‘You’ tab will help us support some exciting new features in the future, so stay tuned!

Let’s look at each tab in more detail, starting with ‘You’ as it’s the biggest change

You

Now you have your own space to organise all of your recipes. Here you will find the recipes you’ve saved and published, the cooksnaps you’ve sent, as well as your user profile, your recipe report and app settings. Any edits you want to make to your profile will be found through ‘You’. If you use the web version of Cookpad, the layout will be slightly different, but don’t worry, you have the same content.

Let's go into more detail. Recipes currently saved in the ‘planning to cook’, ‘saved to cook’ and ‘recipes I cooked’ which you haven't cooksnapped will appear in the ‘Saved’ section of the ‘You’ tab.

Published recipes currently found in ‘My Recipes’, will appear in the new ‘Your Recipes’ section of the ‘You’ tab.

Recipes currently saved in ‘Recipes I cooked’ which you have cooksnapped will appear in both the ‘Saved’ and the ‘Cooksnaps’ sections of the ‘You’ tab.

Home

This is where you’ll find the recipe feed, showing recipes from the Cookpad Community.
You’ll no longer see the search bar at the top of the recipe feed. That’s because we’ve created a dedicated ‘Search’ tab.

The new dedicated ‘Search’ tab will make it easier to search for recipes and people from anywhere within Cookpad, along with offering inspiration by displaying ‘Popular search’ queries here too. You can read more on our blog post.

Create

The only change here is if you’re an Android user, you’ll now manage your draft recipes in the ‘Create’ tab instead of the ‘Plan’. IOS users already manage their draft recipes in the ‘Create’ tab.
Look forward to some more exciting changes to this tab later this year!

It might take some time to adapt to our new look, but we are sure you will find your Cookpad experience enhanced, enabling you to share your best recipes and connect with our wonderful Cookpad community.
