Christmas Cooking Tips: Share Your Knowledge! 🎄

Christmas 2020 is going to be a bit different for many people. Some of the home cooks in our community have hosted many Christmas dinners in their past, while other cooks are suddenly faced with the daunting prospect of cooking it themselves for the very first time.

In fact, we have had many messages from our community cooks asking us for help so that they can be confident in cooking an amazing meal for their loved ones.

How can you help? 💭

Whether you know it or not, you likely have cooking knowledge that will help other home cooks in our community. It may be a little bit of knowledge that you assume everyone knows already - like how to get lumps out of gravy, or how to prep your Brussel sprouts. Or it might be a super top tip that has helped you every Christmas gone by …. do you know how to stop a turkey drying out in the oven??

This year we invite you to share any tip that you think could help someone else in our community. The tip could relate to any form of festive cooking, from making mince pies and mulled wine, to the big day itself and beyond.

Examples of tips that help others include shopping tips to find the best ingredients, preparation tips on how to improve flavour in a recipe, practical tips in the kitchen, or ways to fix common problems encountered in the kitchen (eggshell in your broken eggs anyone!).

How to share your tip ✏️

We invite you to use our brand new Cooking Tips Feature on Cookpad. You can share your tip from the desktop or the app, simply press ‘create’ as you would to share a recipe, but choose the ‘Tips’ option instead. Please use the festive hashtag #ChristmasTips at the start of your tip.

Click 'create' on your desktop and choose 'tips' to share your recipe

You can even link your tip to a recipe. Simply navigate to the recipe you want to link your tip to, click on the ingredient or method step that relates to your tip, then select the paperclip icon. Scroll through the tips available, select the tip you want and that's it - the tip is attached to help anyone cooking your recipe.
