Hi my name is Kasai Eiko. I’m a dentist, scout leader, house wife and mother of two sons and two daughters. I live in Yokohama Japan. I love cooking and I’m good at cooking with leftovers. I’m now a Cookpad UK and Cookpad Russia Ambassador.

I joined Cookpad Japan in 2014 because there's a dormitory for foreign students in Yokohama National University near my house and I have many foreign friends. When they came to my kitchen they showed me their home cooking and I showed them my cooking. The recipes they showed became so precious to me. But because their cooking methods were so different, I had to write in my notebook. Then I found that Cookpad made it so easy to collect these recipes with beautiful photos, so I started uploading my recipes to begin making my beautiful recipe book.

Now 307 recipes are in my Cookpad Japan. Most of the recipes are foreign home cooking recipes.

Why I started sharing on Cookpad UK

Cookpad Tokyo HQ introduced me to Cookpad overseas. I didn’t know Cookpad existed in other languages. I thought Cookpad was only in Japan.

So I started sharing my daily home cooking with photos. I’m not good at English, so my many photos help people to understand my recipes. Now I enjoy Cookpad UK so much, connecting with other home cooks and seeing and feeling what they eat and cook daily on the other side of the earth.

I also started looking at Cookpad in other languages using google translate. It’s so fun to know what other countries’ are cooking on a daily basis. I realised cooking was a language in itself and we can communicate through cooking all over the world. Cooking has no borders!
