Our Cookbook Project Starts Next Week! Read Our FAQ Here
We are excited to start our cookbook project next week. Week 1 begins on Monday 25th May 2020 🎉 🎉 If you haven’t heard about our cookbook project, then please begin by reading our blog post here.
In order to join our cookbook project you MUST share your first recipe with us in Week 1 (that’s next week). To help you get started, we have compiled a list of frequently asked questions:
Q: How do I get the book?
A: To get your cookbook, you need to share one recipe a week on Cookpad UK with the hashtag #MyCookbook. You have to continue sharing one recipe a week for the entire duration of the cookbook project. You can share as many recipes as you like, as you do normally in a week, but you need to select one recipe each week for the cookbook.
Q: Can I upload more than one cookbook recipe a week?
A: No, you can only share one cookbook recipe a week. This is a 25 week project and the final cookbook has 25 recipes - so share as many recipes as you like in a week, but select only ONE recipe to go into your cookbook per week.
Q: Where do I put the #MyCookbook hashtag?
A: Put your hashtag in your chosen recipe for the week in the recipe description. Please do not add the hashtag to your recipe title as our system cannot pick them up. You can see the correct hashtag placement in this example recipe.
Q: What if I miss a week of publishing?
A: You need to publish one recipe a week in order to complete the project and receive your cookbook. However, we of course understand that there may be unforeseeable circumstances such as sickness or work, and holidays etc which could mean you miss a week. Everyone in the project will get two free passes during the project time period. If you miss a week, please let us know. We also encourage you to have several draft recipes ready to publish in your draft recipe folder (in your Plan) so that you can use these for your weekly recipe if you are busy.
Q: I am not confident about taking photos of my food and this makes me nervous about taking part. Can you help me with this?
A: Yes we can! We have a series of workshops and blogs that you can read to help work on and improve your food photography skills. For specific queries, please contact Yui who will be happy to help you further.

Q: English isn’t my first language and I am not confident about writing my recipes for the cookbook, can you help me with this?
A: Yes we can! We won’t edit your recipes unless you ask us to. But if you would like help in writing out your recipes, including grammatical editing of cookbook recipes, please contact Sally from our Cookpad team and she will be happy to help you.
Q: How much does the cookbook cost?
A: To say a huge thank you to you, our Cookpad cooks, we will prepare a print-ready, digital cookbook free of charge just for you. If you would like to print your cookbook to create a hard copy, this step would be for you to arrange and pay for. However we will be able to recommend a good value printing firm for you when the time comes.
