How to search for recipes from around the world?
Whether you are using the Cookpad App on an Android or iOS(iPhone), the steps are very simple and similar:
- Open the side menu by tapping the profile image at the top left corner or swipe from left to right.
- Next, click on the [Settings] (⚙️)
- Then, click [Region], and you would be able to see a list of regions or languages
- The same way you can also switch back to other regions whenever you need
When you change the region on Cookpad, the language will switch to that country’s language. You can explore recipes by either typing in the local language or simply clicking on the images (choosing from images is often easier if the language feels challenging!).
Once you’ve found a recipe you like:
- Select the recipe and press Save or tap the Bookmark symbol like this:
2. Then, switch your region back to your home region.
The saved recipe will now appear in 'Your Collection', making it easier to find, like this:
Important Note:
When you switch back to your original region, United States, the recipe will still be in it's original language (e.g. Spanish) in 'Your Collection' on the Cookpad website or app.
We have a translation feature in Cookpad app that is still under development. This feature does not work for all regions (we are experimenting with it in the UK!) and it will take a little more time to become available to all regions and languages
If you want to try a recipe from another region in a language you don't understand, check out our e-book of translated cookies recipes you can try for this campaign!
If you are using desktop or Cookpad website,
- Visit https://cookpad.com/us
- Scroll down ⬇️
- You will notice [Cookpad Communities]
- Click on [See All] to see the full list of countries and language.
How to translate recipes on Cookpad website?
When you look at another recipe in another Cookpad region, an automatic Google Translate pop-up should appear at the top of your page which will translate the entire page. Select 'English' to translate the page.
