Tikki is a shallow fried or deep fried patty or cutlet. Quick and easy, these tikkis make an ideal starter You can also make it nutritious with the addition of grated carrots, cheese, paneer, green spring onions, corn or grated beetroot . Sandwich it between a burger bread or sliced bread and pack it off as a snack or a lunch box for kids. You can also make tikkis once, store it in fridge for 5 to 6 moths, fry and relish it anytime.

This is a very easy-to-make and healthy recipe that you can cook for your kids. These tikkis or say mini tikkis are prepared from grated beetroot and sweet potato (so here is a minor twist in the recipe, I have avoided using potatoes for binding and used sweet potatoes instead). Sweet potatoes are rich in iron, fiber and vitamins A and C. Plus we have added nuts for the crunchy taste. I have shaped these tikkis a bit smaller so that they can be easily placed in kids tiffin box and can even be easier for kids to eat.
