Totapuri mangoes are medium to large-sized and have tangy flavour. Totapuri or Ginimoothi mango is widely grown in south India and literally translates to parrot face (gini = parrot, muthi = beak) mango in Kannada. Totapuri is consumed raw with the flesh traditionally along a little salt and chilli powder. Notably, its firm flesh ensures it can withstand long durations of pickling without losing its structure. Totapuri mangoes can be used to make raw mango salad, thai salad, pickles, mocktails and chutney.
