For the fifth edition of our Chronicles of the Homechef series we
present you another gem from the Cookpad community who in a very short
time has become a popular member of our community. He is a budding
chef , go getter and an ardent food lover. Lets find out what motivates
him to cook and little bit about his journey on Cookpad :

Tell me a little bit about yourself and what does cooking mean to you?

Born and brought up in Jharkhand currently i am pursuing my hotel
management degree in Kolkata. Cooking has been my passion since a very
early age. I loved watching my mom and grandmother whip up amazing
dishes in the kitchen. At the age of eight i started helping my mother
out in the kitchen with cutting vegetables, etc. just so that i could
start learning the entire process of cooking.

What inspired you to join Cookpad ?

I wanted to build my profile as a chef so I started sharing one new
recipe on Facebook everyday.I found out about Cookpad via one of the
users of this community and started sharing my recipes here. Cookpad
helps my recipes appear on google. As a culinary student it helps me get
a lot of feedback and appreciation from the right kind of audience that
is people who love to cook.

Are you using the Cookpad app or website? How much time do you take to post a recipe?

I use the app to post on Cookpad and it takes me close to 10 minutes to
post a recipe there.

Chef Sanjeev Kapoor and Chef Vikas Khanna are two chefs I look upto. I
follow their channels.

Do you use social media to share recipes?

Yes, I use social media a lot to share my recipes. I post on Facebook
and Instagram.

Do you know what are cooksnaps? Have you ever received or posted any cooksnaps for recipes?

Yes I am aware of cooksnap. I havent received any yet. As I am new to
the Cookpad community, so i haven't got the opportunity to post any
cooksnaps yet. Will surely do so in the near future.

How often did you post when you started off on Cookpad as opposed to now ?

I post quite a lot of recipes on Cookpad. The themes and contest help me
in deciding what to post. I started with one or two in a week. Now i
post anything close to 10 to 15 recipes in a week.

How do you plan your post on Cookpad? Is it planned well in advance or is it spontaneous ?

There is no planning done while posting on Cookpad. It completely
depends on my mood when it comes to posting. Contest and themes also
inspire my post

Does posting recipe with picture help ? Do you spend time on food styling? Which device do you use to click pictures of your recipe ?

Posting recipes with pictures absolutely helps. Yes I focus on food
styling but it doesn't take me much time . I click pictures through
my phone.

Do you feel motivated looking at statistics?

Definitely, It helps me know which recipe is more popular .

Any message you have for Cookpad users ?

Its a great platform to promote your cooking so keep cooking and sharing
recipes on Cookpad

Do you have any feedback/suggestions for Cookpad ?

I love the platform but really would want more options where we can work
around the recipe picture via the platform.
