Hello from Australia 🇦🇺

My name is Kezia Smith, I'm from Indonesia (Borneo/ East Kalimantan) and I live in Australia with my husband and 9 year old daughter.

I never learned cooking before, it's all self taught which eventually became my hobby to express my feelings, and is all about home cooking.

I never really cooked when I was single, until I married my husband 12 years ago. Language, cultural and food differences challenged me especially to be able to cook any food in different ways and from different cuisines.

I lived in Bali for 10 years before we finally had to move to Australia where incidentally there are no stalls or Indonesian restaurants around my place.

So that makes me feel even more challenged, because every time I feel homesick and have the desire to eat Indonesian food, street food or asian food, I have to cook it by myself.

My husband and daughter have always loved Indonesian food and are always asking me to cook Indonesian food. But I still cook, and I am also always learning to cook, more western food.

Normally I post my food photos into my Instagram or Facebook account and sometimes I write down the recipes also.

I never thought to make a Cookpad account until a couple of my friends who were always asking me to share my recipes, they gave me the idea to join Cookpad.

So I joined Cookpad to share my home cooking recipes even though most of my recipes are Indonesian cuisine.

From Cookpad I have been inspired by other cooks from all over the world and from Cookpad I also learned a lot of dishes from many foreign countries, which makes me even more excited to share my experiences, especially in cooking.
